In prescriptions it has to tell you to watch out for changes in mood and sadness but not for over the counter. For Allergic Rhinitis: I thought Zyrtec cetirizine was great at first because it worked so well on my allergies. I didn't think it was related to Zyrtec, but recently figured out that it is. I attributed the weight gain to age, hormones and finally my thyroid.
Blood tests ruled out the hormone and thyroid issues. I stopped Zyrtec 3 days ago and have lost 2 pounds without any changes in diet. I am willing to suffer with allergy symptoms if I can lose this weight. View all 23 reviews. View all reviews. See the full desloratadine side effects document. Xyzal may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. For Allergic Rhinitis: Clarinex is absolutely wonderful when it comes to treating allergic rhinitis, itching, sneezing, rash, asthma like feeling. However lately I've been getting skipped heart beat feeling and lightheadedness after taking it for 2 years now.
I'm guessing it's due to Clarinex since I'm not taking any other medicines other than an occasional Biotin tablet. For Allergic Rhinitis: It seems to be helping pretty quick.
An hour and half later I have the side effects of dry mouth and extreme tiredness. For Allergies: I've had seasonal allergies for several years.
I went back and forth between Claritin and Zyrtec for all of those years and had not great results that got less and less as time went on. But it helped my allergies so well I stuck with it. Eventually the tiredness and stomach ache got better but it seems to take longer to kick in and wears off more quickly now with my allergy symptoms reappearing well before it's time to take another dose.
I've also developed extreme moodiness and anger issues, which is why I came to this page. I see it's a problem for others too. Because my symptoms seem to be reappearing, I may try something else for a while.
For Allergies: This was effective for me but also highly sedating and gave a Benadryl-like hangover in the morning even if taken in the evening. View all 5 reviews. View all reviews. Difference Between Xyzal and Zyrtec
Is this a sign of allergy? Most of the foods people are allergic to are seafoods such as fish, shrimp, clams, etc. People are also allergy to eggs, either egg whites or egg yolks. In babies starting to wean from milk, cereals are first introduced for one week then followed by fruits, vegetables, egg white, egg yolk, meat, and so on and so forth. Each of the said foods have a one-week interval to assess whether these foods will make the baby allergic or not.
They should be administered one at a time. When allergies occur, there are medications which can help us alleviate the itchiness. These are called antihistamines. Two of these are Xyzal and Zyrtec.
Let us tackle the differences. The generic name of Zyrtec is Cetirizine while the generic name of Xyzal is Levocetirizine. These two medications are being slowly recognized in the market. These two medications are antihistamines.
These medications act on the histamine receptors which cause allergic reactions. By blocking the histamine receptors, the allergy is being stopped. The usual symptoms of allergy are itchiness, sneezing, hives, urticaria, and watery eyes.
One of the said differences of Xyzal from Zyrtec is that Xyzal is said to bind more effectively in the receptor sites. Another difference is that Xyzal has instructions regarding its use on children and infants up to six months of age which is good. Zyrtec does not have any instructions for use for young children.
With or without food these two medications can be taken. Zyrtec has a chewable form while Xyzal does not. Thus, this medication should be chewed so that the fullest effect would take place. Both have liquid preparations, but a measuring spoon should be used for accurate dosing of the drug. Zyrtec and Xyzal have the usual side effects.
Besides drowsiness and a dry mouth, sore throat and weakness may also occur. Xyzal usually has more adverse effects than Zyrtec and causes hepatic problems such as jaundice, dark-colored urine, and sometimes epistaxis nosebleed among children. When taking antihistamines, always keep in mind that one should avoid in engaging in such activities such as driving, cooking, operating machines, and all other activities that can cause accidents. Was crazy!
No memory of it at all. I have very vivid scary dreams when I take this at night. I came here to see if others experienced the same but I only seen one person. I do not notice a single side effect not even drowsiness. If you see an allergist, they might possibly have samples on hand you could try before you purchase.
Best wishes to you! Xyzal works very well to control my symptoms. However, I can't do much else as it makes me extremely tired and high a high very similar to morphine. That I don't mind as much because it helps me relax. What I do mind are the vivid nightmares. Every time I close my eyes while xyzal is in my system, I have a bad dream.
As someone who has had horrible allergies since childhood, Xyzal surprisingly really worked well to combat all of my symptoms, especially my stuffy nose. I have tried them all. Flonase, Claritin, Zyrtec, even Benadryl, and this is the only one that helps me. I recently ran out of it about a week ago, and took some Zyrtec that I had on hand, and the difference was really noticeable. Zyrtec did absolutely NOTHING for my symptoms, and only helped me to fall asleep I take my allergy medications only at night, as advised on the bottles.
Xyzal, on the other hand, cleared my breathing, and completely eradicated my itchy, burning eyes. I've read that there isn't a difference in the two, but from my personal experience, Xyzal definitely works far better than anything I've ever taken.Prescribed for Allergic Rhinitis, Urticaria. Aerius may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Claritin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. For Allergic Rhinitis: I like the medication, it does what it is supposed to do and is quick. However, it does not last 24 hours. I can only get 10 - 12 hours maximum. So in the evening when the allergies come back full blown you have already taken the prescribed meds for 24 hours For Allergic Rhinitis: This is by far one of the useless drugs I have taken to treat seasonal allergies.
I return to my usual Reactine cetirizine and I feel much better! It works every time without any side effect. For a better allergy control, I use the cetirizine with Flonase nasal spray and I have a complete remission of all my seasonal allergies including my runny nose, itchy throat, sneezing and watery eyes and the effect last 24 hours. For Allergic Rhinitis: I took Claritin on two occasions to alleviate stuffy head colds and runny nose.
I took 2 pills, one each on successive days about a month apart, and a day after taking them experienced both times a bloody nose. I am an older adult and haven't had a bloody nose since I was a child. For Allergic Rhinitis: It was effective for my allergies, however it caused many side effects that are listed nowhere!
Depression, anxiety, confusion and sleepiness that was so pronounced I had to pull over while driving. This was the Nondrowsy formula. There are 11 other people who had similar reactions in the support in drugs. I'll deal with my allergies rather than end up in the psych ward.
Plaquenil is our next option. However using synthroid synthetic thyroid daily has done more for my hives than anything used thus far. Read More. I have to travel in summer to Europ and I started to take Aerius almost every other day to avoid the allergic staff. It came but not bad, just a little bit, I remember my daughter and I went to the zoo. After that It went away. I forgot but recently on February it start again after eating an apple ,since that time it came 4 times, after eating tomatoe and the other time after eating fish and orange.
They put me on Humira injections and the other symptoms went away but I still cannot tan without horrible itching. I have tried Benadryl, Atarax, XyzalZyrtec and nothing helped. I have no physical signs like hives or rash. I have seen an allergist and have no allergies and my thyroid and blood tests were all fine. He told me to use vanicream a prescription lotion that does not have dyes or perfumes to try to help with any dry skin since I have some itching at all times.
